Roei Kirshberg - IDF Reserve - Discusses War in Israel from West Bank

TPUSA Faith at Godspeak invited IDF Reserve Warrior, Roei Kirshberg, to speak to our attendees over Zoom at our monthly meeting on Friday, February 9, 2024. He shared his background and gave an update on the war, followed by Q&A.
Our attendees loved hearing a first-hand account from literal boots on the ground! This led to us being asked to come back and speak with Roei at the SonShiners ministry at Godspeak. Roei (pronounced Roy) Kirshberg was born and still lives in a small moshav in the Jordan Valley, which is on the east border of Israel in the West Bank. He studied at the regional school and enlisted in the army immediately after, in accordance with the law in the State of Israel.

In the army, Roei served in a Rangers unit--a special patrol unit whose purpose is to lead the armored brigades in intelligence, clearing areas of threats and eliminating enemy headquarters. He commanded soldiers as a Platoon Sergeant and participated in an operational activity for the defense of the State of Israel.

After being discharged, Roei enlisted in the service of the Israel Police where he served as a Detective in the Detective Unit of Zion Command in Jerusalem. He resigned with honor after several years and returned to Moshav Tomer where he lives today with his wife, Avital, and their three dogs.

Roei is an entrepreneur, owning a hotel and several businesses in the field of agriculture and solar energy. As of October 7th, he was recruited to his Reserve Unit where he serves to this day and for the foreseeable future.

This is a wonderful organization devoted for helping Israel’s poor. Lilach has established the Israeli Food Bank and was awarded a special commendation from the president of Israel. The entire organization has turned its attention towards the refugees of the war.

This preparatory school for high school graduates sits right next to Sderot & Kibbutz Shoval at the heart of what sadly became a war zone. They are working around the clock with many of their alumni for aid and relief in the area.
