Fujifilm FinePix A800 "REAL PHOTO TECHNOLOGY" (a 2007 digicam in 2024)

Here we go again with another attempt at a retro camera review and test shoot. This time, it's the Fujifilm FinePix A800 equipped with their 8.3 megapixel 1/1.6 Super CCD sensor.

Now, that sensor size sounds like what you might get in a midrange smartphone today, but in 2007 it was considered a more premium compact option. This camera however was $179 brand new, and $12.99 when I bought it from a thrift store in town back in November of 2023.

I once again make a short trip to the Port Orchard marina and test the A800 near and around magic hour (or golden hour) while relying mostly on my own voiceovers rather than using any form of text-to-speech.

Video shot on Panasonic S5 Mark II with 20-60mm mostly at F/5.6.
Editing and color-correction done in Davinci Resolve Studio.
Film emulation used for a couple of shots in the intro was done with the Dehancer Pro plugin.
