Young Child Assaulted by Prowler

On 4/18/24 at approximately 2:07 AM, San Diego Police Department responded to a hot prowl call on Wellington St. in Linda Vista. Upon their arrival, they learned a male had entered the home through an unlocked side door and assaulted a 5-year-old child. The child was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital. Police and K-9 Officers extensively searched the area and were able to track the suspects' scent to a trashcan on nearby Linda Vista Road. There the suspect discarded a shirt and took off in an unknown direction. The suspect is still outstanding and described as a Hispanic male in his 20-30’s approximately 5’8 wearing a dark jacket and pants. If you have any information please call SDPD immediately.
