US reimposes oil sanctions on Venezuela

The Biden administration said it would not renew a licence that was due to expire early on Thursday (April 18) that had largely eased oil sanctions on Venezuela, as it moves to reimpose punitive measures in response to President Nicolas Maduro's failure to deliver on election promises.
