Adam and Jesus: Eden and Israel: Paradise Lost and Found

There are many similarities between the Garden of Eden and Israel however. Here are a few examples.

1. Both Eden and Israel were created as a special place by God Almighty.

2. Both Eden and Israel have an eastern gate.

EDEN
Genesis 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

ISRAEL
Ezekiel 44:1 Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.

3. Both Eden and Israel had a sinless man in it.

4. In Eden, man was barred from the tree of life because of sin . And in Israel, a cursed tree was made to give life, because of the Son of God who died on it for those very same sins.

ADAM

JESUS
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

5. Eden was the site of a man's greatest failure. And in Israel the sight of man's greatest victory through Christ.

ADAM
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

JESUS
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

6. In Eden Satan was victorious over tempting the first Adam. In Israel Satan failed in that temptation with the last Adam.

7. In Eden, the first Adam was exiled through the eastern gate. In Israel the last Adam will return and victoriously walk through the eastern gate.

8. Both Eden and Israel had a man who was directly created by God. Adam got his blood directly from God, and Jesus got His blood and body directly from God.
