UFO Landing Ring in Norway

On an October night in 1975, a tanker sails the moonlit waves of the North Sea off the windswept west coast of Norway. The ship's log describes the sea as calm and the night uneventful.

Well, except for one thing. As they pass the many islands of the west coast,
they suddenly see strange lights above one of them. A crew member describes them as starburst-like in appearance, although they did not behave like starbursts.

Although it is odd, it is not something that anyone makes a big deal of. It is noted in the logbook, and then the crew goes back to work. But when it later turns out that other mysterious things were happening on the island at the same time, the captain tells some of the islanders about the sightings above the island, and speculation about a possible connection immediately begins.
