Sen. Schumer moves to allow floor debate on Mayorkas impeachment, calls for dismissing charges

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced a floor debate on the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday. "For the sake of the Senate's integrity and to protect impeachment for those rare cases, we truly need it, senators should dismiss today's charges," Sen. Schumer said during his speech on the Senate floor. House impeachment managers delivered two articles of impeachment against Sec. Mayorkas to the Senate on Tuesday.
