....this week we start at the newly tilled bed that will be for our white onions when they are big enough to plant out, next to that is the red onions that have been in since last winter and are doing ok despite the very wet weather we have had....into the little greenhouse and hundreds of seedlings are sprouting....dwarf beans, cucumber, squash, tomato, kale, cabbage, spinach, chillies....there also some seeds that havn't sprouted yet (I'm not sure what they are 😂)....outside the rhubarb has tripled in size since I planted it a few weeks ago....in the baths, the last few spring onions that overwintered waiting to be cleared out, in the middle the first sprouts of this year's spring onion crop and the carrots coming up in the end bath....into the big greenhouse and there are more seeds....parsnip, leeks, tree spinach, white onions, beetroot, lettuce and some kale that I dug up and repotted from last year....round the back the chard is thriving and I've turned over the back of the bed for some tree spinach when it's ready to plant out....over to the kitchen garden and the garlic is doing really well, the leeks are still going strong and I've planted fennel and oregano....the rocket is coming along well and we've got some small lettuces as well....more leeks that are not quite ready yet and the bunching onions in the corner should be ready to take the tops off soon too....down to the potato bags and we've already got some poking little leaves up, and I'm going to put another 20 bags down when I've got time....there is a new brassica cage for the kale and cabbages and the old frame we used last year has been moved and will be covered in polytunnel plastic as soon as funds allow....finally we have started digging over another new bed for the beetroot and leeks, it will need some more work yet, but at least we have made a start....
That's all for this week folks.
