The VW Golf 8 GTE is a hybrid car that means that it has two engines, it has a normal petrol engine with 150HP & 250Nm and it also has an electric engine with 95HP, so the HP of the two engines are combined and delivers 245HP & 400Nm with both engines. In our opinion, the 245 hp of the VW Golf 8 GTE are more than enough for the car.

The gear shifts are very aggressive you can feel it when you drive in SPORT MODE but when you try to drive normal the gears are super soft. From our own experience we can confirm that the acceleration feels much faster. The Golf GTE needs 16,6 seconds from 100-200 and 23,3 seconds from 0-200.

The top speed of the Golf 8 GTE is 225km/h which is not very impressive for a car with 245hp. The wind noise at higher speeds are just not to be heard.
