Homeland Security Department (Senate Governmental Affairs Committee)

Participants testified about potential legislation to reorganize the federal government in order to respond to terrorist acts on U.S. territory. Among the issues addressed were the potential creation of a Department of Homeland Security, information sharing and coordination, border and costal security, and command and control of agencies under a new department.
