The High Price of Lucasfilm, Disney's Struggles with Star Wars

An analysis of recently filed financial statements has revealed that the profits generated by Disney's Star Wars movies have fallen $2.8 billion short of covering the media giant's acquisition of the legendary sci-fi saga’s creator, Lucasfilm. the company has not been able to recoup its initial investment in Lucasfilm through box office returns alone.
Disney acquired Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012. They then created a new trilogy of Star Wars movies starring Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega.
