Solar Eclipse 4/8/2024

I found it strange that the shadow crossed the sun, from lower west, to upper east, they sun and moon always travel east to west. I was in north eastern Texas, about a 115 miles from the center of the path. It almost looked like a black disc, as you could not make out any highlights on the edge. Really strange to me.
