Toaster Spooks Cat On Kitchen Counter

Cats have an interesting relationship with technology. Slowly but surely they’re catching up, but generally they’ve never been equipped to understand the subtleties of human innovation. After all, even if they can be more empathetic than most people we all meet, they’re not technically human. Nobody ever sat a cat down to explain how a toaster works, and if they did, I’m not so sure they’d fully understand even then.

You don’t need a degree in literature to predict how this story will unfold. It has all the elements of an epic tale: a cat, a kitchen, a toaster and an eerie sense of foreboding (okay, maybe those aren’t actually components of a saga in the classical sense, but bear with me).
