The futuristic setting of Badlands could justify characters using space travel, advanced tech, and other plot elements that have never been seen in the series. Until now, humanity’s best tactic against the Predator has been relying on nature, whether it is Naru using herbal medicine in Prey or Dutch coating himself in mud in the original movie. Now, Badlands can upend this trend by allowing its heroes to utilize more technology in their attempts to defeat the monster. This could allow Badlands to offer a fresh new perspective on the Predator franchise while also borrowing an earlier sequel’s best trick.
