Preempting another High Humidity Season to avoid LOOSING miniature orchids the way I did during the Summer of 2023. My average humidity is 30%, up until the summer of 2023 when my humidity was a stead 85% for 3 straight months. It was amazing for me, I loved it, but my set up is geared toward a very dry climate, so I have all my orchids in semi hydroponic set ups in different variations, but always with highly water retentive media to counteract the dry climate that I live in, which gets exponentially more challenging because of hot dry winds. Hoping that I have learned a lesson because of the loss of the miniatures in 2023, I am working with Vanda falcata ahead of time to attempt to keep her in the collection.
