Woohoo!! Excite! But also, yikes!! It is high noon to rescue my Insolence before the only keiki she managed to grow to the point of getting roots, is lost due to dehydration. This phalaenopsis came with a terminal spike and that usually means the orchid is not going to survive unless the orchid grows a keiki or another plant at the stem. This phalaenopsis orchid also came with a major deteriorated almost non existent root system, so growing a plant from the side was just about impossible energy wise. Here I show you what the next step is when it comes to how to save a keiki growing from a phalaenopsis flower stem. #orchideen #orchideenpflege #orquideas #beginners #orchidcare #rescue

UPDATE: Unfortunately the keiki developed stem rot because the old desiccated spike was absorbing water and being so close to the stem of the keiki, it transferred to that and with that, this keiki did not make it! So, please, if you can, remove the keiki from the any flower spike it is attached to to avoid any moisture transfer to the stem of the keiki!
