EPISODE 3: REMOVING THE FRONT END

In today's video we will take off the front bumper and explore the damages behind the cover. This is where Jill steps in with her knowledge of the body shop.

There was some additional damages (as expected) behind the front bumper cover. We knew the radiator was bad, as well as the AC condenser, but we weren't expecting the sandwiched transmission cooler to be there. LOL it was neatly tucked away in between the radiator and ac condenser and couldn't be seen from the top or the bottom of the car. This sometimes happens even in the body shop, you will get a lovely surprise every once in a while.

We only went as far as the damages were. There is no need to go any further than that UNLESS you suspect even more damage beyond that point. Otherwise, it is just a huge waste of time, energy, and effort that doesn't need to be spent, and could be distributed elsewhere.

The engine is relatively clean. It's dirty as to be expected because - let's be honest - who washes their engine bay each time they wash their cars? We don't...but, we will wash this one because it needs to be inspected for any leaks. This should honestly be done with any used car (both the engine wash & inspection).

We will only replace what needs to be replaced due to damage or missing parts. This is going to be a cheap build. We want to build it so if anyone else wants to try their hand at this but doesn't have a lot of money, they can do it within their budget. The only thing that will take the longest is time. Depending on how much money you got to spend and how much time you are willing to put into a project like this. I am in no hurry as I want to learn about how to build one (cuz I (Jill) has never done this - but Shawn has built cars before).

So come and join the journey of building a car with me. If this is your cup of tea, please consider liking, subscribing, hitting the notification bell icon (that may or may not work), and drop a comment down below. We love hearing from you.
