Yvette Cooper: Nobody Wants to See a wider Regional war in the Middle East

Yvette Cooper, the shadow home secretary, has "strongly condemned" the Iranian strikes in the Middle East overnight, describing the attack as "reckless".

She added: "There's been a real concern from the very beginning about the risks of escalation, and while the international community has been urging restraint instead Iran has chosen to do the opposite."

Ms Cooper also insisted that "nobody wants to see a wider regional war".
