This 6 minute segment of the CHD feature film “Fluoride On Trial” highlights:
* “Father of Fluoridation” H Trendley Dean attended a conference in 1942 in which toxic effects of fluoride were discussed and a recommendation to study fluoride harm was made.
* In 1943 studies were undertaken in Texas, South Dakota, and Iowa, showing harmful effects of fluoride - bone changes and cataracts. The Public Health Service never published or reported these findings.
* A fluoridation committee was held in Newburgh, NY in April 1944. H Trendley Dean attended this meeting and disclosed harm from fluoride found in his 1943 studies. When committee members asked for this data, committee chair Harold Hodge refused and told committee members that the data was not to be shared publicly.
