Forrest Gump - Winston Groom / Audiobook

Forrest Gump is a 1986 novel by Winston Groom. The protagonist recounts a variety of adventures, ranging from shrimping and a table tennis championship to reflections on his childhood love, as he makes his way through American history, where everything from the Vietnam War to college football becomes part of the story.

Gump is portrayed as a man who looks at the world in a simple and truthful way. He doesn't know what he wants to do in life, but despite his low IQ, he seems full of wisdom. He says that he "can think of things that are quite beautiful," but when he tries to "say or write them, it comes out like jelly."
