Episode 2: Governors, Thermostats, and Newspapers

Did you know that Nineteenth-century newspapers printed Sunday school lessons, ran Bible clubs for readers, and circulated sermons? Many newspapers printed bible verses they put on the banners of their papers. Regarding the nation’s first common textbook, one author said that the McGuffey Readers portrayed God as “creator, preserver, and governor.” Join me for Episode 2: Governors, Thermostats, and Newspapers in my series on the Constitution and Living As Good Citizens.
