Jackie's Song the Vessel and the Rose

The tape is old. This is my wedding song for my beloved wife Jackie who passed away on February 25, 2024. Jackie's Song The Vessel and the Rose. I did not own a guitar and had not played in years. I told the band that I wanted to write a wedding song and play it. They agreed. Me and a few of the bandmembers were working together on the same construction project, an underground subway. The hours were insane. I barely got the song written. We had never gotten together to look it over much less practice. When I walked on stage is the first moment that they knew what I was going to do, a slow waltz style blues slide in E. With a quick turn in A. That was it. I had never played with an actual band before and I was not a singer, especially while playing at the same time. This was all completely adlib on the spot, they told me to set the rhythm and tempo and they would jump in. This is the result. For Jackie. May she rest in peace. Amen.
