Babbitt Pour 2024 Part Six

I'm bringing you along on my biggest babbitt pour since I left the shipyards back in 1994. The two bearings are from a work boat and supply support for a five-inch propeller shaft, which was re-machined to new custom diameters.
The Babbitt material is ASTM B-23 Grade 1 Babbitt
Melting point solidus 223C 433F
Melting point Liquidus 371C 700F
Pouring temp 441C 825F
Part Six, I finish up the boring of the two Babbitt bearings and take a good look at the finished bearing bores. I conclude my series with an overview and looking on to the next Project at JOB SHOP USA.
