A lot of people give cardio a bad rap. Either they don’t think the time cost/benefit is worth it, they don’t think it’s necessary because they only see it as a fat burning tool or they don’t even see it as that and it’s just an “inferior to lifting” way to exercise.

“Cardio” is sort of a blanket term for any kind of sustained activity that raises your heart rate. I have no issues with that use of the term.

To distinguish the specific TYPE of cardio that I believe has significantly greater benefit to health, body composition and certain performance metrics, I prefer the term “conditioning.”

So what do I mean by conditioning, what training effect am I suggesting you derive from this type of training. What is Zone-2 and how do you use it?
