Darth Vader was NOT defeated by Luke Skywalker

To the untrained eye, it might seem like Star Wars: Return of the Jedi ended with Luke Skywalker defeating Darth Vader, and then Vader in turn, tossing the emperor into a pit. But that's not what happened at all. Yoda had a plan and that plan had nothing to do with whether or not Luke could win a lightsaber duel.
