Storm Shield Forecast morning update 4/2/18
There's some slight cooling today as winds pick up and clouds roll in this afternoon. The ridge of high pressure responsible for our warm weekend still dominates however, so temperatures will remain above average for the rest of the work week. Expect a high of 79 In Bakersfield today, 70 in Lake Isabella, 64 in Tehachapi and 62 in Frazier Park. As for those winds, they'll be the fastest down into the desert, where westerly winds will gust to 45 miles per hour this afternoon. The passes of Hwy 58 through Tehachapi and I-5 through Frazier Park will also see some wind gusts picking up to about 35 miles per hour. It will only be slightly breezy on the valley floor, but it's enough to improve our air quality by several points, keeping it in the moderate range for another day.
