Senegal's New President Just Introduced A NEW CURRENCY To Kick out Colonial Currency

It appears France has just received another blow from Senegal and her new president, the 44-year-old Bassirou Diomaye Faye. President Faye has promised that he will get rid of the European colonial currency that France has been using to keep its former colonies under subjugation.

The newly elected pan-Africanist Senegalese president said that Senegal will remain an ally of France, but his country must win more from its relationship with Paris.

Senegal's new president, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a 44-year-old former tax inspector, has promised to take the country out of the West African CFA franc, a currency pegged to the euro and viewed by many as a relic of French colonialism.

At his formal swearing-in ceremony on Monday the second of April, Faye said his election pointed to "a profound desire for change". One of the pillars of this change concerns the colonialist subjugation currency, the CFA franc. Now, let us give you some context of the situation here.

Former president Macky Sall, who did not stand in the elections having served two terms, had been an ally of France.
