The Reversal of the Chicago River: Sending Our Waste Down South

In the 1800s people from all over the world came to Chicago to achieve the American Dream, you know, to get filthy rich. One of the problems with all the people getting filthy rich was that the Chicago River starting getting really filthy. People might have been able to get used to the stench and the flies, but the big problem was that the river flowed into Lake Michigan, the source of Chicago's drinking water. So in classic Chicago fashion, we decided to reverse the course of the river, making it someone else's problem.
