In Kazakhstan, more than 60 settlements remained cut off from the outside world as a result of large-scale floods, more than 96 thousand residents were evacuated from disaster zones. The country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called it the biggest disaster in Kazakhstan in the last 80 years.

In 10 out of 17 regions of Kazakhstan, a local emergency situation is in effect due to floods. More than 86 thousand people were evacuated from disaster zones, 29 thousand of them were children, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. Climate is changing due to 12,000 year cycle.
