How to make a Decorative SLED from SCRAP WOOD! Inspired from PINTEREST! Follow along as I show you how I built this adorable decorative SLED from SCRAP WOOD! This decoration is perfect to hang on a wall or display on a porch, just customize it to your liking!

TOOLS USED:

Table saw, miter saw, band saw, drill, brad nailer, pin nailer, palm sander, clamps, tape measure, square

SUPPLIES USED:

Krylon Banner Red spray paint, Krylon Clear Lacquer, 18 gauge brad nails, 23 gauge pin nails, wood glue, rope, embellishments, news paper, duct tape

CUTLIST

Overall Measurements: 41 1/2" X 21" X 3"
Runners: (2) 41 1/2" X 1 5/8" X 3/4" cut at 50 degree angles on each end
Bed: (3) 24" X 3 1/2" X 1/2" Freehanded curves on ends
Cross pieces: (3) 12" X 1 1/8" X 1/2" spaced at 3/8" apart
Steering board: 21" X 1 5/8" X 1/2"
Holes drilled at 5 1/2" center from the outside up. Note, real sleds have the rope more towards the ends, I didn't like the look of that for this decoration, so place it where you think is best.
Rope: 32"

PLACEMENT OF THE PIECES ON THE RUNNERS FROM THE BOTTOM UP from the LONG POINT:
First cross piece: 9" up from the long point
Second cross piece: 18 1/2" up from the long point
Third cross piece: 28" up from the long point
Steering board: 34" up from the long point
