The last night of the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel and casino, at the famous intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, where visitors came for final goodbyes and a party at Robert Irvine's Public House restaurant/bar. Gaming floor closed at 3am, 4/02/2024, and its doors were locked at noon for the first time since before the 1957 grand opening. Tentatively scheduled for demolition in October, 2024, to make way for a planned baseball stadium for the MLB Oakland (Las Vegas) A's and be ready for opening day, 2028. The Tropicana's wrecking balls will be removing the last Las Vegas Golden Age Strip memories of Las Vegas, from mobster Frank Costello to Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, Ann Margaret, the showgirls of the topless revue 'Folies Bergere' with over 50 consecutive years of live productions, and comedians such as Don Rickles, Shecky Greene, Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Rich Little, Redd Foxx, and Phyllis Diller. 4/1/2024.
