Man Crossed Continents By A Bicycle For Love| Heart Touching Love Story Animated #shorts

PK Mahanandia, a Dalit from Athamalik village in Orissa's Kandhapada district, was making portraits at New Delhi's Connaught Place when he first met Charlotte, then 19, in 1975. She, on reading a news report about him, had come to see his skills. His art failed him though as he immediately fell in love with the girl. She, on the other hand, was attracted to his simplicity. Both of them got married in India and she offered to pay for his passage to Sweden, but he declined saying he would make his own way after his graduation.

Thus began this incredible passage of a boy on a second hand bicycle, with only Rs.600 in his pocket. He cycled all the way to Sweden via Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Germany, Austria and Denmark. His bicycle broke down many times and there were days when he went without food and shelter, but all this did not deter him. He reached Sweden four months later and immigration officials refused him entry, disbelieving his story. To his surprise, Charlotte turned out to be a member of the Royal family in Sweden and she drove over to the border to receive him. Mahanandia continues to live in Sweden today.
