Recently, the Waikiki Business Improvement District gave me a tour of the portion of Waikiki that they steward. Basically, the businesses in this District agreed to have a portion of their tax go to a company that is responsible for handling the homeless, decreasing crime, and helping the area be beautiful. This seems to be a good model for these businesses.
