Police investigation leads to lockdown at Cimarron-Memorial High School
A police investigation has led to a lockdown at Cimarron-Memorial High School in Las Vegas Wednesday morning.
The Clark County School District said in an email that its police department is "looking into rumors and the school was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. Students are safe in their classroom."
As of 11:30 a.m., the school was placed on a soft lockdown and police did not find a weapon.
Principal Colin McNaught told families in a message that CCSD Police were conducting an investigation, and more updates would be provided once there's more information.
Cimarron-Memorial High School is located near Buffalo Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard in the west valley.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they were assisting but referred further questions to the school district's police department.
