One of the last groups of hunter-gatherers on the planet are the Hadzabe people of Tanzania. The Hadzabe obtained legal title to their ancestral lands in 2011, which gives them the ability to defend their forests against land-clearing efforts by farmers and herders. Since then, there has been less deforestation in the central Hadzabe territory in contrast to a notable growth in the surrounding area. There has also been a rise in the populations of African wild dogs, lions, leopards, and endangered elephants. See this film through to the very finish.
