Debunking ‘Hybrid’ immunity and vaccine-induced IgG4 responses

The classification of the COVID-19 vaccine as a traditional vaccine has sparked a contentious debate among experts and the public alike. Central to this discourse is the fundamental definition of a vaccine as a preventive measure designed to shield individuals from contracting a specific disease. Traditionally, vaccines are lauded for their ability to train the immune system to recognize and combat pathogens, thereby providing robust protection against infections.

However, experts argue that the COVID-19 vaccine, while capable of eliciting immune responses, may fall short of meeting the stringent criteria of a true preventive vaccine.
The concept of "hybrid" immunity has stirred controversy within the realm of immunology, with critics dismissing it as a pseudoscientific term lacking empirical validity. Proponents of this notion suggest that individuals who have been both vaccinated and previously infected with COVID-19 may possess a unique form of immunity, often referred to as "hybrid" immunity. However, experts argue that this characterization is misleading and unsupported by rigorous scientific evidence. They contend that the immune responses elicited by vaccination and natural infection are distinct processes with varying implications for immune protection.

Moreover, concerns have been raised regarding the potential skewing of immune responses induced by certain vaccines, particularly mRNA vaccines, towards the production of IgG4 antibodies associated with immune tolerance. This phenomenon, characterized by a shift in the immune system's response to favor tolerance rather than active defense, has raised questions about the long-term effectiveness of these vaccines in conferring robust immunity against COVID-19 and the devastating effects to the individuals immune system whereby creating recurring COVID-19 infections and turbo cancers.
