  • Thank you for this, Matthew! Having finished the Bible recently, I have recently been studying the extra biblical texts and the early church fathers, understanding the heresies and why they matter is critical to my study. I especially look forward to next week, finishing off the Filique heresy and hearing about the Gnostic heresy!

  • Life is rich, God is good! I am quite sure I’ve never heard anyone describe the refrain from the hymn, “holy, holy, holy” as representative of the trinity. But then, tonight, within three hours of hearing this episode, in the authors Introductory history in the book on Origen, the Arian controversy is discussed, with reference to the passage in Isaiah quoting “holy, holy, holy“, crediting Origen’s influence from the fourth century on. Can’t wait for next week!

  • I think at the heart of it, to say Christ rose from the tomb without a physical body is to deny the resurrection. That's my two cents on it.
