Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is opposing the recent attempt by former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants to disqualify her office from prosecuting the election subversion case in Georgia.

She filed a new court document on Monday asking the Georgia Court of Appeals to uphold Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee’s ruling, which permitted her to continue on the case after her top prosecutor resigned.

Willis argued that there was no error in the trial court’s decision and that Trump’s request for review should be denied.

She emphasized that there was no conflict of interest and rejected claims of misconduct on her part.

Despite efforts to refocus on the criminal case, Trump and his co-defendants continue to argue that Willis’ previous romantic relationship with her top prosecutor created a conflict of interest.

They are urging the Georgia Court of Appeals to review McAfee’s decision. The appeal does not halt the prosecution, which is ongoing, CNN reported.
