The full meeting of the Fairfield County Commissioners' weekly meeting for April 9, 2024.

The meeting began with Public Comments starting at 9:01 and ending at 9:23. First to speak was Melissa Hoover-Conner of Pleasantville/Walnut Township and Citizens for Fair Fields. Melissa spoke in favor of the exclusionary zones and how industrial solar uses bullying tactics to get their way. https://citizensforfairfields.org/

Next, was Celina McCord of Millersport who too spoke in favor of the exclusionary zones to preserve the quality of life for the rural residents. On the contrary, Shawn Rader (? who was hard to understand his name and address) being a farmer cannot afford to continue without doing solar leases on his property.

Sherry Pymer of Walnut Township and Citizens for Fair Fields presented an agricultural map of Fairfield County and commented on how industrial solar targets these areas since farmland is easier for them to develop. https://citizensforfairfields.org/

Kevin Elder of Pleasantville spoke in favor of the exclusionary zones since he believes there is not sufficient evidence the land could be returned to farming. This was followed by a woman who played a recording from a Walnut Township resident in support of the exclusionary zones but was not able to understand her name or address.

Lastly, Bev Sturm of Lockbourne, but a landowner in Fairfield County also spoke in support of the exclusionary zones.

The remainder of the meeting were items related to the regular Legal Update and County Administrative Update(s) and the commission's "voting pattern".
