According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, several emergency vehicles rushed to a business near Pavilion Center Drive and Charleston Boulevard around 10:04 a.m.

Witnesses in the vicinity informed FOX5 that gunfire erupted inside City National Bank at 10801 W Charleston Boulevard. Subsequently, the police clarified that the shooting took place within a law office situated in the bank's building. The incident resulted in the deaths of two victims and the suspected shooter during Monday morning's tragedy in Summerlin.

Law enforcement officials revealed that the victims, a man and a woman, were identified, although their relationship to each other and the assailant remains uncertain at this time. Furthermore, the police confirmed that the suspect did not succumb to police intervention, and it is suspected that he may have taken his own life.

Initially described as a "dynamic event" by the police, multiple LVMPD emergency vehicles responded promptly. However, during a subsequent press briefing, law enforcement assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

By 1:00 p.m., the building had been completely evacuated, with nearby schools briefly placed on soft lockdowns, which have since been lifted. Local businesses reported no lockdown orders from the police.

Paris Werly, a friend of an office employee, recounted reaching out to staff upon hearing about the shooting. She expressed relief upon learning that they were unharmed, hiding on the third floor while the shooting occurred on the fifth floor.

Another witness, Benjamin Lieff, shared his experience of being under lockdown at a nearby WeWork location until authorities allowed them to leave. Lieff described the scene, noting the arrival of numerous police vehicles and the presence of heavily armed personnel, indicating the severity of the situation.

The closure of Pavilion Center Drive south of Charleston remained in effect, although Charleston Boulevard had reopened in both directions, according to Metro.

Individuals with information pertinent to the shooting were advised against calling 911 and instead urged to contact (702) 455-AIDE (2433).

Additional details emerged regarding the tragic event: the shooting reportedly occurred during a deposition, resulting in the deaths of two individuals before the shooter took his own life. Identified as attorney Joe Houston, the gunman allegedly targeted his former daughter-in-law, Ashley Prince, and her new husband, attorney Dennis Prince, during the incident.

Sources revealed that Joe Houston was representing his son, Dylan Houston, in child custody proceedings against Ashley Prince, who was represented by her new spouse, Dennis Prince. The deposition involved the custody dispute between Ashley and Dylan Houston, who share two young children.

Joe Houston purportedly shot Ashley and Dennis Prince before ending his own life. It was also disclosed that the deceased couple had recently welcomed a newborn, their only child together.

The Vegas Golden Knights issued a statement expressing condolences to the victims and gratitude to first responders, as the shooting occurred near their practice facility.

Channel 13 provided ongoing updates on the developing situation throughout the day, including statements from officials, interviews with witnesses, and reports from the scene.
