Did you know that ‘The Book of Revelation’, the last book of the New Testament, records the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? The four ride a white, red, black, and pale horse, respectively. The fourth rider is death and is often depicted as a skeletal figure wrapped in a pale cloak in many artworks, such as an 1887 painting by Victor Vasnetsov.

Few people have glimpsed the figure beneath the black cloak and lived to tell the tale. Most legends paint the Reaper as a skeleton—white bones and an empty skull—but a few claim that nothing but a dark void lurks beneath the cloak.
