Adventure 14 Part 1: Between Every Two Trees There is a Door

Probably the least glamorous, or exciting part of a trip into backcountry wilderness is the preparation, or the getting started. But the nature of your start often heavily determines the entire rest of the experience. It's important to take your time, make sure you're perfectly oriented. Make sure all of your gear is together and that everything fits and feels comfortable. Only then should you commit to the adventure.

In this adventure, my still-pup Emerson joins me for the first time. Also, my buddy Jeffrey rejoins me after a year-or-so hiatus. The first day is characterized by heavy winds, blue skies, and flowing water, water, water - including some spectacular waterfalls, and one of the finest campsites for the night that I have ever had the pleasure of settling into.
