Johnson Prepares to Unwrap Mystery Ukraine Aid Package

House Speaker Mike Johnson is planning to bring up a vote on Ukraine aid shortly after Congress returns from Easter recess.

However, disagreements among Republicans and Democrats over the contents of the bill, including aid for Ukraine and Israel, complicate the situation.

While the Senate passed a bipartisan $95 billion aid package in February, Johnson intends to introduce a House bill with additional provisions.

He is considering splitting the aid for Ukraine and Israel into separate bills to garner more support.

Johnson has suggested various policy proposals to attract votes, such as converting aid to Ukraine into a loan and using seized Russian assets to fund reconstruction efforts, the Wall Street Journal reported.
