January 17 is the birthday of Yamaguchi Momoe, an idol who dominated the Japanese music scene in the 1970s. She was active from 1972 to 1980, less than 10 years, but her overwhelming presence and expressive power made her one of the most representative singers of this era. After the song "Yokosuka Story" was released in 1976, it was the group of songs created by the husband and wife team of lyricist Yoyoko Agi and composer Ryudo Uzaki that made Yamaguchi Momoe's individuality stand out.
