Carving a Bear

Making a caricature carving of a bear in this video. This is made in a Linker style and the measurements are from his work.

This is a piece of Basswood that is 1"x1"x4". I have a lot of Basswood blanks that I am currently using. I also have some Sassafras, Cottonwood, Peach, and some Mulberry that I intend on carving on. I am going to cut some Cherry in the spring to see how that carves also.

Measurements are approximate: Bottom of chin is 7/8" from the top. Ears on the top are 1/4" from back of head and a good 3/8" wide. The belly is about 2" and the feet are 1/4" from the bottom.
