In 2022, Ukraine's foreign minister Dymtro Kuleba said, "Every barrel of Russian oil delivered to India has a good portion of Ukrainian blood in it". Today he is visiting India for the first time at the invitation of Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to discuss possible ways of cooperation between the two countries. He is expected to ask India to help invest in the rebuilding of Ukraine and also extend more humanitarian assistance. India has been navigating its relationship with Russia as well as western allies backing Ukraine.
