Theyyam (തെയ്യം )

Theyyam is a Hindu religious ritual practiced in northern Kerala and some parts of Karnataka. Theyyam is also known as Kaḷiyāṭṭaṁ or Tiṟa. Theyyam consists of traditions, rituals and customs associated with temples and sacred groves of Malabar.
ഉത്തരകേരളത്തിലും, കർണ്ണാടകത്തിലും പ്രചാരത്തിലുള്ള ആരാധനാ സമ്പ്രദായങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് അനുഷ്ഠാന കർമ്മമായ തെയ്യം. പഴയങ്ങാടിപ്പുഴയ്ക്കു വടക്കോട്ട്‌ കളിയാട്ടം എന്നും പഴയങ്ങാടി മുതൽ വളപട്ടണം വരെ തെയ്യം എന്നും അല്പവ്യത്യാസങ്ങളോടെ തെയ്യം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു
