Chinese Type 56 AK Chest Rig

Going over a Chinese Type 56 chest rig for the AK that was used by the Chinese military and also issued out to North Vietnamese forces. These were to be issued with the Chinese AK or more specifically the Type 56, and had a long service and production life.

The type 56 chest rig contains three magazine pouches and four smaller pouches. This is the second iteration of chest rigs, with the first ones to be released in a brown color. In the video I show the chest rig in more detail as well as identify how you can date your own chest rig, if you happen to have one.

This is a fairly common piece of military surplus on the American market and can be found at various places. It is an interesting piece of kit and history, though not as practical as other military surplus chest rigs that are out there.
