Dr. Risch: Medical journals have become a ‘free-for-all'

Dr. Harvey Risch, Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health, advises people searching for medical information outside of scientific journals to learn to validate the information themselves. “If you think that people that you know, that you’ve heard for some period of time through the pandemic, maybe even before, have provided valuable observations about science, then you can temporarily trust them,” Dr. Risch says. “But as they say, trust but verify. That’s the only way to proceed is kind of delicately.”
