Today, NATO was founded, but did you know about its Nazi legacy? The largest peacetime military alliance in the world has a dubious history of employing some of Hitler’s most renowned officers.

The names of Hans Speidel and Adolf Heusinger, among others, are unknown to most. But these persons were key figures in Hitler’s Nazi war machine who would later go on to hold some of the highest positions in NATO.
